  1. A Suwanee man has been formally indicted by a grand jury for the drive-by shooting of a Cherokee County home in March. 19-year-old Tyler Salvatore Penna is accused of firing around 15 rounds at a home near Acworth while four people were inside. He faces four counts of aggravated assault, one count of criminal damage to property in the first degree, and one count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.   2. Pam Carnes, president and CEO of the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, was one of three community leaders to be named to the Chattahoochee Technical College’s Board of Directors. Roberto Murillo of Ellijay and Ford Thigpen of Kennesaw were also named as members during a ceremony on Sep. 9. In their new role as board members, Carnes, Murillo, and Thigpen will each advocate within their communities on issues regarding the college and the local workforce. (Yahoo! News)
  3. “Picture Perfect,” a montage of Broadway musical favorites and original numbers, debuts tonight at the Canton Theatre. Members of the Lolek’s Storytellers will perform songs from shows such as “Little Shop of Horrors” and “The Greatest Show” while raising money for their 2022-2023 season. Tickets are on sale now for performances tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 pm (Historic Canton Theatre)
  4. Dates have been announced for this year’s Fall Downtown Professional Meet Ups, sponsored by Georgia Main Street and the Georgia Downtown Association. This year’s Canton meetup will take place at the Canton Theater from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Oct. 13.
