  1. The Paulding County School District is seeking input on proposed calendars for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 school years. The surveys were sent to families via email and can also be accessed online. Responses will be accepted through Wednesday, Sep. 28, and the Board of Education will approve the final calendars on Oct. 11. (Paulding County School District)
  2. Multiple Paulding County representatives were recognized during Forestry Field Day, a competition where 4-H members learn about one of Georgia’s most valuable resources. Allen Jones took fourth place in the Senior division and Jesse Castillo was awarded first place in the Junior division. Paulding County native Ford Thigpen, the Northwest Georgia regional president for Westside Bank, was one of three community leaders to be named to the Chattahoochee Technical College’s Board of Directors. Pam Carnes of Cherokee County and Ford Thigpen of Kennesaw were also named as members during a ceremony on Sep. 9. In their new role as board members, Carnes, Murillo, and Thigpen will each advocate within their communities on issues regarding the college and the local workforce. (Yahoo! News)
